Hazing Policy
We love our pledges and want them to know how much they are valued. With that in mind, Omega Phi Alpha does not believe hazing is ever appropriate. Hazing can take many forms including but not limited to physical or emotional distress, or the imposition of many time-consuming inflexible requirements that interfere with your ability to focus on your schoolwork. Any new member who believes that she has been the victim of hazing is encouraged to contact the national membership director immediately so we can correct the situation.
Omega Phi Alpha's Hazing Policy
No Omega Phi Alpha chapter or individual of Omega Phi Alpha shall engage in or condone any form of hazing.
Hazing shall include, but is not limited to:
- Any action taken or situation created intentionally or with reckless disregard that produces mental or physical discomfort or distress;
- Any form of verbal or physical harassment or abuse;
- Engaging in public stunts, morally degrading or humiliating behavior or games, whether on or off campus; and
- Excessive demands on a student's time so as to interfere with academic performance.
These standards shall be measured by the subjective perception of the victim of said hazing, within reason.
