Convention is the one time of the year when all of the sisters come together to make decisions that will guide the sorority for the next year.  You can expect an organized jumble of business meetings, workshops, council meetings, district meetings and sisterhood bonding!  Business meetings will take about 8-10 hours of the convention schedule and will include NEB elections, budget review, and voting on new legislation.  Dress during these meetings is business casual.  The district meetings and council meetings are a great chance to meet with sisters and talk about your chapters and exchange ideas.  Use this time to get to know the other girls!  The district meetings can be used to discuss next year's district rally and elect officers.   There will also be 5 fantastic workshops: Using the OPA Forum, Successful Fundraising, Mock Meetings, OPA Life After College, and Service Projects 101.  There will also be a special "OPA: Behind the Music" event!  See the prelimiary schedule for a times/days.
On Saturday, sisters will take part in a service project in the Denver community.  The service project is still TBA but it will be announced as soon as it is confirmed.  We are hoping to schedule a hands-on project that involves some good, old-fashioned work, so bring clothes and closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.
WHAT TO BRING: A copy of your local constitution, a notebook or computer for taking notes during meetings and workshops, any OPA items to sell in the Rose Shop, business casual clothes for the meetings, your best ideas, dress clothes for banquet, working clothes for the service project, chapter scrapbook, a sweatshirt or light coat, sunscreen, a camera to capture those great Rock Star moments, and any medication that you may need over the course of the week.  *Keep in mind that Denver and the surrounding area is one mile above sea level.  The air is thinner at that altitude and my take some getting used to.  It's normal to get tired more easily, so give yourself time to rest if you need it.*
